Why do Love and Fidelity Matter?

By Dr. Jennifer Frey, Event Moderator
University of South Carolina

About the lecture
As the event moderator, Dr. Jennifer Frey will give introductory remarks to frame the context and tone for this year’s national conference!
In 2007, a group of Princeton students christened a new student group, the Anscombe Society, to meet the needs of students who felt alienated by the hookup culture. Elizabeth Anscombe was one of the foremost philosophers of the 20th century, whose theoretical contributions and radical personal integrity make her an excellent model for students seeking to defend and live out sexual integrity in today’s climate. After giving us a glimpse into Anscombe’s extraordinary life and work, Prof. Frey will explain how Anscombe’s legacy can energize conversations surrounding marriage, family, and sexual integrity on 21st-century campuses.
