The Love and Fidelity Network is precisely that – a network – where students
(and the parents, alumni, professors and community members who support
them) join together in a common mission to bring a more positive and healthy
vision of love and sexuality to college campuses.
We are committed to advising students at any level of campus activism. Whether
students seek advice on how to get started – how to organize, how to formulate
their group’s mission and by-laws, where to go for speakers and other resources -
or advice on how to make more effective an existing group, the Love and Fidelity
Network will provide the support and assistance they seek to meet their unique
needs.
Inform campus life
The Love and Fidelity Network will help you inform your campus in matters of
marriage, family, and sexuality. If you do not already have a student group at
your college to represent this voice, start one! We’ll help you ORGANIZE and
formulate an action plan to best meet the specific needs of your university.
Help your classmates, professors, administrators, and campus community
UNDERSTAND how chastity and stable marriages enable the flourishing of
individuals, children, and society. We’ll connect you to scholars and professionals
who can give campus-wide presentations on these matters from their areas of
expertise.
Get your classmates thinking. Start a reading or discussion group to address such
questions as:
- “Why date rather than hookup?”
- “Is marriage strictly personal, or is it a public issue?”
- “Can modesty actually empower women (and men)?”
- “What does chastity look like in today’s culture and is it even possible?”
We’ll direct you to a wealth of resources – books, articles, poetry, plays – that will
jump-start any conversation.
Engage and enrich campus life
From campus publications to student government, from university programs to
student-run public interest groups, there are many opportunities to engage
campus life and enrich it with a positive vision of sexual integrity.
Is there an imbalance of voices represented in campus publications? RESPOND
by publishing opinion editorials and letters-to-the-editor, or by creating your own
journal. We’ll direct you insightful literature and tips to help you articulate your
views intelligently.
Are certain university programs actually doing a disservice to some students
rather than a service? ENHANCE existing university programs by bringing your
concerns to university administrators and staff. ENLIGHTEN them as to the
adverse messages and effects of their programs, and help them recognize
improvements that can be made to better meet the needs of all students on
campus. We’ll connect you to students who have successfully collaborated with
others in their university community to bring about constructive change.
Students are often mistakenly under the impression that excessive drinking and
hooking-up is the norm for college social life. Get creative! ENRICH the social life
on campus by providing fun alternatives. We’ll help you organize study breaks,
film forums, outings, parties, and other events where real friendships can form
and grow.
